Welcome to the heart of our mission.
The Youth Hub is where a new generation of organizers and abolitionists come together to envision and make change.
What’s the Youth Hub @ YFJCo?
The Youth Hub is where young people find their place at YFJCo. It’s a place to connect, learn and grow as organizers and shape the movement. Through the Youth Hub, YFJCo offers opportunities for continuous learning, political education, gatherings and more, all specifically designed for the new generation of abolitionists and organizers.
Why the investment in young leaders?
Ending youth incarceration will take thousands of organizations and people ready to organize, lead and sustain long-term campaigns. So we’re training and supporting a new generation of organizers, grounded base builders and leaders with the skills, political clarity and collective power needed to carry on this effort.

What’s Happening at the Hub
The Youth Hub is where youth organizers find opportunities within the YFJCo network. Becoming a member of the Youth Hub @ YFJCo means joining our quarterly Huddle calls and getting on our newsletter list. As members learn and build skills, there are options to deepen involvement.

The Huddle
A quarterly call where young leaders link up to connect, build and grow. The Huddle is a casual space to learn about leadership opportunities, gain access to unique training and build community with youth from organizing campaigns across the US.
Get Active
As you start to grow your organizing capacity, we offer training and intensives to build new skills and strengthen relationships.

Liberation Summer
An annual, curated experience. Each summer, we offer opportunities, from a training series to an in-person intensive, designed to deepen skills, strengthen relationships and develop young leaders as organizers.
Double Down
This is where youth organizers already involved with YFJCo step up and take on leadership roles through larger or more long-term commitments.

Youth Leadership Advisory Board (YLAB)
YLAB is a group of system-impacted young leaders from the YFJCo network. This is a two-year volunteer commitment. YLAB members strengthen and guide the opportunities offered and impact created through the Youth Hub @ YFJCo.

Block x Block Fellowship
Block x Block is a hybrid, 12-month, paid fellowship for eight young leaders between 17 and 25 who have been directly impacted by the legal system and are already affiliated with YFJCo. We’re investing in the good that comes from orienting young leaders to their own power through learning, assessment and practice. We know that in the face of threats to our freedom and for the protection of the young people in our communities, local organizing isn’t optional—it’s essential. We must organize block by block, shifting and building power from the ground up to achieve our shared vision: No Kids in Prison.
